Kendra S.

United Kingdom

I would like to nominate my best friend and warrior Kendra for her comeback. As a single mum to a beautiful 8-year-old daughter, I have always been proud of Kendra’s strength and resilience. She supported me through some of the toughest challenges I have faced and is always there to support everyone she can.

When Kendra was diagnosed with breast cancer 5 years ago I was grateful to be able to return the favour and support her through gruelling chemo, radiotherapy and radical surgery. She fought with so much strength and we were sure that she had beaten cancer. Kendra became sick during the first lockdown and after many tests, was told (with no one there for support) that her cancer has returned and is terminal; It had spread to her ovaries, liver and her spine. She will be on chemo for the rest of her life. Kendra is just 39.

Despite the terrible news, Kendra was determined to enjoy Christmas and make it a special holiday for her daughter but on Christmas Eve her house flooded, causing mass devastation. She was determined to see the funny side and didn’t let it get her down but the stress of constant cancer treatment and repair works to her house meant that her health suffered. Now the repairs are completed, she is determined to regain as much strength as she can. Kendra understands that her life is limited but she wants to stay as strong as she can to be there for as long as possible for her daughter. She has faced the ultimate comeback and her life depends on it. A Peloton bike and the solidarity of the Peloton community is everything Kendra needs right now, it will help her to stay well for as long as she possibly can and live the rest of the life she has to the fullest she possibly can.
